About Online Community

Managed by Foundation, the Online Community is made up of people from different parts of the world who share one common goal – to contribute to “Building better lives, smarter communities through ICT”.

Through this community, we help connect members and facilitate the widespread sharing of ideas, resources, learning and best practices, in an effort to strengthen networks that work with grassroots telecentres, help community members build on each others’ work, and contribute to a stronger, more sustainable telecentre ecosystem.

Since the launch of our English language site in 2008, the Online Community has grown exponentially, spawning 4 other language sites in Spanish, ArabicFrench and Russian, with a collective membership of around 11,000 to date.

Join thousands of other members – ICT for development (ICT4D) advocates, telecentre activists, government leaders, health workers, educators, IT professionals, social entrepreneurs, and even private individuals – as we discover, connect and collaborate towards achieving our goal.

Take part in the conversation. Share your own story. Join the telecentre movement and make a difference TODAY! Sign up now!

The Global Community Team

Behind the Online Community is the Global Community team, which consists of Regional Community Coordinators or RCCs in partner networks and organizations around the world. The Global Community team, led by Foundation’s Global Community Manager, animates the community sites – engaging, connecting, and supporting community members. Get to know the Global Community team!
