The global forum is indeed a very good opportunity to share and learn.  However, not everyone will be there physically at the venue of the forum.  Have we thought of ways by which others can virtually participate in the events as they happen when they happen?  Like for instance, having important presentations webstreamed and having others be able to ask questions/make comments via a live chat, etc.

Great idea Mel! Others are suggesting sponsorships...

i do agree with Melinda, we should have a web streaming like what it took place in un-gaid conference in Abu Dhabi in December 2010 and i participated from Helsinki Finland while i was attending another two conferences  also i thing there should be an online discussion one week before the conferences and we discuss the issues and the topics and i think EATLF has a good experience in that they used to have an online discussion two weeks before each forum and one of the achievement is the declaration of the Telecentre academy in Africa  and  foundation can select a facilitator or moderator and i do prefer the facilitator to be from the host country (Chile) or from foundation staff, and on the first day he/she can make a summary. I think Anthony David did a good job for this forum. He conducted an online discussion for the Regional Networking Session and got now an excellent idea for the session.

I am very intrested on this and I would like to have some guidelines of texts, articles, or theory about this so I can be able to discuss with an more centered information.

Web 2.0 applications or web portal are very important these days. I think web portal is the most effective tool connecting our network. Web 2.0 applications are very effective tools in social, economic, political and cultural changes. They are the main part in the political changes in North Africa and Middle East. We are interested to increase interactivity and collaboration on website. We want to improve applications and tools that allow users to add or edit content (blogs, events, photos, etc.) in an easy way to interact with other users to share information, knowledge and best practices. We need to set a questionnaire which will help us to improve our The evaluation of the existing web portal and the response to the questionnaire will improve our network. I remember few months ago I receive an email from administrator that they are going to change the web portal and there are going to delete those groups which are not active and they are going to do …, do… do… but nothing happened (or very limited deletion) so let us work together and help them to apply the innovation and is it possible to be 8 or 10 groups depend on themes e.g education, gender, health, grants, jobs...etc and we can concentrate instead of spreading. Let us set a questioner and answer it and submit the result to the conference in Chile. Let them submit a paper to the conference about the existing situation of the portal.  Keep in mind this portal can change the world. It can connect the unconnected and include the excluded since we are working on marginalized and disadvantage community.

Let us build a questionnaire ( with multiple choice answers to tick) and answer it before 25th march and submit the results to the 3rd global conference
