Communication Centers driven by private enterprises are form of mini Telecentres. If they are to follow telecentre ideals, creation of an open Telecentre platform is a must.

The biggest challenge all the time when digital opportunities arise is the model of their exploitation or harnessing.

Technology-based sustainable development is normally realized where there are enterprises around which to create manageable processes. When the adoption of the technology we have so much promoted has become the very culprit to hit the business we have so much promoted, it only means that we have achieved our goal and the model of business should change. As we speak now, the invasive manner that mobile technology has been to all sectors spells doom to traditional telecentre practitioners.

There is need to change, who needs email services anymore? Who needs the internet when the mobile gives it to you without reservations? Really the telecentre business model must change and change fast for this community to retain relevance.

Our services....I mean services...must reflect the current times...

What worked in yesteryear will not wash any more... your thoughts on strategies Lala has many faces and you got company.

coming to your proposals, when shops exist the challenge is the sourcing of the material stocks, the management of the processes and the handling of the money. In many cases, these are the elements that spell doom in the implementation of telecentre enterprise initiatives.

Question: How is the telecentre community prepared to address these?
