ICT is important to the poor and marginalized because it can provide increased access to resources, the absence of which defines poverty.

ICTs are tools that facilitate access to a variety of development resources.

Most people in disadvantaged communities are poor because they suffer from lack information. Therefore, I have two question about this important issue.

How can the internet be useful to marginalized people who are illiterate ?
We all know, the internet is the greatest source of information, whose importance has not been fully realized by the majority of the poor and the marginalized, most of them do not even know what it means.

How can ICT be useful priority to marginalized people in disadvantaged communities that are after "food, health service etc..", they have to decide over a puzzle "food or ICTs for the poor"

Dear Nabil,

Thank you for proposing the puzzle.I am not going to contradict your views.Let us see how the puzzle is treated by our respected members.

All the best,

Zainul

Great Puzzle? Nothing comes before hunger. There is a famous proverb in Tamil: Pasi Vandhal Pathum Paranthu Pogum Meaning that, when hunger hits a person, all the 10 characteristics/values within him would fly away.

In this situation ICT can be useful to the community leader in gathering information to overcome their hunger. At least the next generation can prosper.
