Telecentre is a new concept worldwide. Telecentre is now a resource centre for all ages people children to aged people. All kinds of information related services is provided by telecntre players. So, ICT based skills is crying need for them.

Dear Yapa,
Possible solutions in developing ICT skills in the Asia Pacific region. As I elaborated in my previus mails, the type of training will realy depend on the ICT skills status of the local people you want to train. Assuming that many have had no access to basic ICT skills, you have to start in phases from the begining targeting specifc groups of people.

Hello Freire,
It is good that we join this network to collaborate more on expriences in Asia Pacific. I remember living in the islands of Maldives and the challenges of communication there is so immense due to marine life. I am not sure if we have telecenters in the Maldives but I remember promoting women ICT centers in some islands and worked very well.

I hope to get more as we collaborate

I am pleased introduce Ms. Seuwandi Dineshani Yapa who joined us to facilitate the role of ‘Community Facilitator’ at APTN secretariat. She commenced operations from this month and will be coordinating and facilitating all the members with regard to content gathering and promoting activities of TC Networks in the region as well global.
