Community IT Training (CITT) team under Digital Society Development Division (DSDD) are delighted to announce the launching 9 Women Community Knowledge Center (WCKC) in 9 different Wilaya at the Sultanate of Oman through Omani Women Association (OWA). WCKC aims to provide digital literacy training to Omani women through the use of Omani Women Association (OWA) distributed throughout the Sultanate. The WCKC provide a venue to reduce computer illiteracy, bridge digital divide and will contributes to the improvement of the position of women in IT field by providing IT literacy training programs to women only. The WCKCs are also, providing opportunities for 19 trainers to gain and enhance work experience in the field of ICT. The establishment of the WCKC reflected His Majesty the Sultan's vision when stressed the role of women in sustainable development and will create a strong base for women in the field of technology and nurture nationwide ICT development, while providing additional employment opportunities for Omani women. 

Results:

CITT Team is now running 10 Community Knowledge Centre (CKC) and 9 Women Community Knowledge Centre (WCKC) in 19 different Wilaya. These 19 centers are operated by 59 trainers who were trained and certified in Train the Trainers (TTT) and Digital Literacy (DL) program, in addition to some other courses related to their professions. Across 19 CKC/WCKC, around 12,000 were trained in computer basic, internet access and in the use of e-Services provided in the Official E-government Services Portal.
