“The most effective pathway by which technological and information empowerment can reach the unreached, is the one that Mahatma Gandhi described over 80 years ago as "attention to the poorest person." (Professor-Scientist M. S. Swaminathan)

The Academy has over a thousand Indian fellows who serve as torch-bearers of the Rural Knowledge Revolution in India.

During 2007, twenty five (25) fellows from other countries have also been inducted. The primary aim here is to foster mutual learning among grassroot ICT leaders in the region.

The first foreign fellows of the NVA come from Afghanistan (3), Nepal (5), Philippines (5), Sri Lanka (10), Kenya (1) and Nigeria (1).

National Virtual Academy
Dear Jimmy L. Calata
Are you presently using voip-web (audio-video) conferencing to connect with your foreign fellows (Afghanistan, Nepal, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Kenya and Nigeria) and if so to what extent?
Comment by Jimmy L. Calata on July 31, 2010 at 9:42am
At this point, our communication is limited to emails, mobile phones and social networking sites (e.g., FB, PhilCeCNet, APTN and telecentre.org). We are trying though to organize the group, and looking for some sponsors to get us together to work, perhaps with some partners, on some ICT4D programs, projects and activities.

@ Md. Shahdat Hossain: You might be interested to see the uploaded PDFs at: http://www.telecentre.org/group/jamsetjitatanationalvirtualacademyn...

You'll find in those e-documents the profile, coordinates and some good practices of the NVA fellows.
