The Telecentre Sessions were very informative and showcasing of various programmes over Africa.
The challeneg is to raise the bar for telecentres and make them more meaningful for community development...

SATNET made a presentation at ICD4RD conference organized by SANGONET and co-sponsored by CTA in Johannesburg, South Africa from 1-4th Nov 2011. We had an opportunity to share with other ICT partners on the value and importance of telecentre networks in southern Africa. Dear network members,

With rising opportunities for telecentre services to provide various services through ICTs in unserviced areas around Africa and beyond, there is a need for us to continue sharing innovative ways and technologies to enable telecentres sustain their services.

Dear Dean
Thanks for the New Year wishes - I join you in hoping that 2010 will be a productive year for us all. In this context, is there a draft plan for SATNET activities that could be discussed?

Hi Darlington,
I thank you for your contribution. It is true that we need to resolve issues related to farmers as regards to access to market information services.

As we continue to make our regional network grow, I believe that a lot of fruitful resolutionms are going to be identified through sharing of our expriences.

I thank you form joing the group,

Dean

As we strive to uplift the living standards of the people in our region through ICTs, I appeal to all of us to find solutions to the many problems our rural farmers are facing. Many a time those of us in the field of agricultural information dissemination often over look the importance of feedback to our audience. I will soon put a forward a discussion which I believe this family will help me find answers to. Happy 2010 to all.
