The telecentre.org social investment program aims to improve the impact and resilience of telecentres around the world by supporting the networks and organizations they work with and by helping to build a stronger, more durable telecentre ecosystem at the same time.

Drawing on a $21-million funding pool created by telecentre.org’s original social investors, Canada’s International Development Research Centre, Microsoft, and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, our program provides grants and technical assistance to telecentre networks and organizations located throughout the world.  It is organized around five pillars:

§  Networks — Helping create and support strong networks and organizations that make telecentres more effective, sustainable, and valuable to communities

§  telecentre.org Academy — Providing telecentre managers with ongoing training, capacity building, and professional development opportunities to improve performance

§  Content and Services for Sustainability — Developing high-value products and services that communities need and that telecentres can use to generate income for sustainability

§  Knowledge Sharing — Supporting the widespread sharing of ideas, learning, best practices and innovation

§  Research — Investigating the impact of telecentres on social and economic development

But we are more than a social investment program.
telecentre.org is part of a global movement that represents thousands of people and organizations who believe that telecentres have an important role to play in development. Together, we make a difference. We'd like you. to get involved.
