Catalina has a Mechanical Engineering degree from Universidad EAFIT in Medellín (Colombia) as well as an MBA from The George Washington University (with a full scholarship granted by the school). She has experience in the international and private sectors, in Colombia and abroad. She worked in Commerce One, an internet consulting company; and for six years worked with the World Bank managing web related projects that promote collaboration and knowledge sharing. Initially, at the Development Gateway and later on the World´s Bank Intranet. She has also been a consultant for the IADB (Inter-American Development Bank) on the topic of Telecenters. After living for 7 years in the U.S. and France, she returned to Colombia in 2006 to start-up and manage Makaia.
