About Me (biography or organization description)
Joel is a Program Associate at IREX, providing support to IREX's Tech4Dev and Global Libraries portfolio. After spending two years in Burkina Faso managing gender-based community development projects, Joel pursued his Masters in Library & Information Science from the University of Washington. As a student, Joel enjoyed measuring the impact of public access to technology, studying the relationship between access to information and empowerment, as well as developing strategies to include libraries in the broader development discourse.
