Start up a community owned Telecentre at Bangladesh, Bagherhat

This was really a nice opportunity to visits a remote area of my country for establishing telecentre. I was representing BTN to facilitate to identify the needs of information. Telecentre sounds new and even internet..............

Bangladesh Government initiated to establish telecentres at government postal officers.

The participants are delighted to knows about the facilities/applications. They can only read the daily national newspapers at 11:30 AM.................. and after that. Some of them are delighted to have it at early morning..........

Union Chairman: leading the ICT penetration at the rural community through Union Information and Service Centre



Moydandighi Union is in Panchaghar District of Bangladesh. The local administrator contributing a lot from his own fund to establish UISC for the people of his Union Parished (villagers). I had a chatt with him, it was really nice to know that his urge to provide information services as well as ICT literacy to the young generation of the district.

Bangladesh government is taking lead on enroll telecentres at the last milage of administration

It is really a big news for Bangladesh and the telecentre community of the world. Bangladesh government is taking lead to ensure access points in all over the country by 2012. Union Information and Service Centre is the newly introduced model in Bangladesh since 2009. As of today around 1000 UISCs establishment process is enrolling all over the country. District Commissioner Office leading the initiative of training with the support of a 150 trainers pool. I am feeling proud to be part of it.
