About Me (biography or organization description)
Elevate african development Initiative (eAfricDev) envisions Africa where the marginalized and under-served groups (persons with disabilities, rural communities, Women and Youths), regardless of financial resources, have the skills, knowledge, and access to the Information and Communication Technology they need to achieve their goals.
Areas of Interest/Expertise and Types of Services Provided
Encouraging governments and aid agencies to sponsor the provision of ICTs to rural communities.
Leveraging on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools to promote good governance, democratic engagement and public accountability for better service delivery.
Researching the new knowledge required to make ICTs fully capable of improving rural life.
Developing educational resources to accelerate the application of ICTs towards solving the problems of rural life.
Creating ICT awareness and increasing ICT literacy in rural communities so that ICT could contribute to the community’s economic, educational, health and social development.
Establishing effective networks/programs like Symposiums/ Seminars/ Workshops at different levels for involvement of more women, girls and persons with disabilities into ICT.
Working with rural communities to establish their online presence to enhance their sense of belonging, democratic influence, neighbourliness and involvement in their area.
Lobby and Advocacy at Government to encourage policies and practice that will promote the use of ICT among the marginalized communities for their access to information as well as socio-economic/sustainable development
