The World Summit on the Information Society is a United Nations process, held for the first time in 2003 and for the second time in 2005. Its different objectives are fixed in a document called WSIS Outcome Documents (www.itu.int/wsis/outcome/booklet.pdf), which main goal can be summed up as “build[ing] a people-centred, inclusive and development-oriented Information Society”.
