Tele-communication

Apac being a global village has some of the out standing setback in the technological advancement. Infact, there is a lot of subjugation and cynicism with the mobile companies. Its true we have the masks easy to spot even 9 kilometers but services is lacking. One can load airtime to find network cutoff within a short time. Apac is a real dump, very unreliable network, and the network administrators never seem to care about the customers..See More

Areas of interest/expertise and types of services provided:
I participated in Youth Budget Advocacy organized by international year of youth august 2010-2011 and Recreation for Peace and Development (RDP-Uganda) is a youth based Non Governmental Organization operating in Apac, Masindi, Bulisa and Nakasongola under building Local Democracy Program on Social Political Empowerment of the youth in Masindi and Apac district with funding support from Action Aids International Uganda (AAIU).the youth budget advocacy group is a model developed by RDP Uganda in 2008 with the view of improving youth advocacy in the two districts of Masindi and Apac. As the youth were being budgeted for on the basis of peanuts and tokenism, it was a common methodology where the sub county chief and the District Technical Planning Committees with their councils to resolve on the budgets and plans for the youth without the presence of the youth at all. As the saying goes, nothing is ours without us, it was felt imperative to have the youth involved at all levels so that their issues can be reflected in the district plans and budget.

Aggreement

I would like to appreciate the telecentre for the much realities being done on the ground, especially rural areas and i would beg to be included in the training so that we trained others and they benefit from the organization as the outcome of the organization that is broad based and actually organized, i thank the facilitator and the founders of this organization, have seen, the workshops organized and attended from the pictures and seems very spicy.

You re welcome,

Hello Okello, telecentre.org is a knowledge sharing platform where people and organizations from all over the world get together online to share their experiences about ICTs for Development and to also learn from each other.

Though it has contests where recognition in form of awards and prizes are given out to participants, telecentre.org does not donate anything, be it money or computers.

Apparently, there is an on going contest i.e the Photo Contest which is running to 31 Sept.2009. Winners will be awarded accordingly so feel free to be apart of it by sharing your experiences of ICTs through photography. Follow it up from HERE.

Cheers!!
