Successful Implementation of ICT into the lives of farmers in Rural Bangladeh

Bangladesh Institute of ICT in Development (BIID) has successfully completed the replication and up-scaling phase of the e-Krishok campaign. e-Krishok is a campaign designed to bring the benefits of ICT to the farmers of rural Bangladesh. e-Krishok Scaling up and Replication Launching Ceremony

e-Krishok Campaign: A campaign to enhance the livelihoods of rural Bangladeshi farmers through the use of ICT

Bangladesh Institute of ICT in Development (BIID) in October 2008 launched a campaign to harness the benefits of ICT for rural farmers in Bangladesh. The e-Krishok campaign provides farmers with information and advisory services, so that the farmers can increase their income, generate new sources of income. Through e-Krishok, farmers can get information and advice not just on agricultural issues, but also on animal husbandry, fisheries, rural cottage industry and handicrafts.
