ICT Can Cut Global Greenhouse Gas Emissions

The December 2012 Boston Consulting Group (BCG) report titled SMARTer2020, revealed that ICT can cut global greenhouse gas emissions by 16.5%, saving up to $1.9 trillion USD annually. The potential reduction is more than 16% higher than the estimated saving in a study conducted in 2008. Rwanda Tops Africa in Broadband Speed

Rwanda has the fastest broadband Internet in Africa, according to latest statistics from Ookla's NetIndex, overtaking Ghana.

The latest broadband speed results, show that Rwanda currently has download speeds of up to 7.28 Mbps from 3.28 Mbps six months ago, emerging 65th the world. The country is followed by Libya with 5.12 Mbps and Ethiopia with 4.82 Mbps.

Sierra Leone: U.S.$15 Million Loan from China to Complete Fibre Optic Connection

Sierra Leone has signed a US$15 million loan agreement with China to complete its connectivity to the Africa Coast to Europe ACE cable scheduled to be switched on by October.
