With the commitment of the Municipality of Tanauan to the i-Pinay program, training in badge making and basic computer trouble shooting were recently conducted.
In this photo: Mr. Jonas Cabusbusan with the participants in badge making training and the designs made by students for Zen's Nail Care and Spa and Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Region VIII.
The series of training were participated by 47 students from Tanauan School of Craftsmanship and Home Industries and Palo National High School. There were four batches for the badge making training that were conducted last April 18 – 19, April 23 – 24, April 25 – 26 and May 2 – 3, respectively. Also, one batch for the Basic Computer Troubleshooting was conducted last May 16-17.
For the badge making alone, a graphics editing software was used to design the badge templates. Mr. Graciano Arzaga, the instructor, taught the students on the basic operations such as layering, masking, blending and inserting text which helped the students come up with their own personalized designs for the badges.
The badges are sold for P20.00 each. As to the writing of this article, they already have 2 clients, Zen’s Nail Care and SPA for their souvenir and the Philippine Information Agency in Region VIII as giveaways for their media night.
For the Basic Troubleshooting course, Mr. Arzaga taught the students on how to disassemble and assemble computer desktops. After the training, these students were hired on a summer job in the municipality.
Mr. Eugene Ramos, the CeC Manager, is very positive that these IGP programs, especially the badge making, would help the students in their endeavors as entrepreneurs.
