Early this month, Telecentre.org Foundation (TCF) welcomed 4 Korean volunteers from the Korean IT Volunteer (KIV) Program. These volunteers, who will be based at the TCF office in Manila for the next 2 months, are currently working on updating the database of TCF’s Global Telecentre Map.
The map is a key resource for the telecentre and ICT for development community as it provides important information on where telecentres are located in the world and what they specialize in. It seeks to serve as a powerful reference tool that will facilitate communication and collaboration between telecentres across continents.
The Korean volunteers’ role in this particular phase of the mapping project is therefore critical, and the support of the National Information Society Agency of Korea, the organization that spearheads the KIV Program, is highly appreciated.
Is your organization a beneficiary of the KIV Program too? What projects are they involved in and how have they helped you so far? We'd love to hear your story. Why not blog about it?
