Launching of the Local Language version of jobs portal www.bdjobs.com/bangla

Bdjobs, the leading job portal of Bangladesh extends its job information services to the
youth in the suburbs and villages of Bangladesh. Through a humble opening ceremony at Batighar, an information center located in Baira bazaar of Shingair Upazila in Manikganj district the local jobs portal http://www.bdjobs.com/bangla was officially launched.


This will be country’s first ever Bangla jobs site listing job opportunities at local level. The initiative was supported by Katalyst Bangladesh, a development project. Bangladesh Institute of ICT in Development, BIID and Grameen Phone is working to distribute the web based service through a network of telecenters / GP CIC all over Bangladesh.


In the opening ceremony, its chief guest eminent educationist and Ex Advisor of the Caretaker Government Prof. Jamilur Reza Chowdhury lauded this initiative of Bdjobs and termed it as an important milestone in delivering benefits of ICTs to the rural communities of Bangladesh. Prof Chowdhury further added that this initiative will help the telecentres to expand its service basket to serve the underprivileged rural communities.


AHM Sultanur Reza, Addl. General Manager of Grameen Phone, Chief Executive Officer of Bdjobs Mr. Fahim Mashroor, Senior Business Consultant of Katalyst Bangladesh Mr. Arafat Hossain and CEO of BIID Mr. Shahid Uddin Akbar also spoke on the occasion.
