Md. Minarul Islam is the entrepreneur of Mohajonpur Union Parishad, Mujibnagor, Meherpur. The inauguration ceremony of Mohajonpur UISC (Union Information and Service Centre)held on 17th December, 2009. Mr. Islam got UISC training in January, 2010. In this short period of time, his training knowledge created an immense impact to community people. Now local people are getting all sorts of information and services from Mohajonpur UISC without any hesitation. Some people are coming to make video conference with relatives living in abroad, some are coming to take different government forms, some are coming to take photographs, and some are to take other necessary information services from there.

Mohajonpur UISC provides agriculture, health, education, law & human rights centric information as well as internet, email, computer compose, computer training, photocopy, photography, various government forms, examination results, DV form and visa processing services . Mohajonpur community people are very happy to get the information and services from the UISC when needed. Mr. Islam is also taking service charge for those services. Now he is earning BDT 20, 000 per month on average, and contributing his family as well. Family members are also very delighted to the roles and responsibilities of Mr. Islam.

‘UISC training changed my life’, says Mr. Minarul Islam. In last October, 2010 I have completed visa processing of 330 people to more than 150 countries, and earned BDT 26, 400 (BDT 80.00 for per visa processing), he said. “Now local people keep faith on me. Whenever they fall any problem, they phone me or come to UISC for a better solution. They named UISC a ‘Solution Centre’. I feel fine to hear their voices”, he added.
More than 25-30 service receivers visit regularly to UISC. A large number of them are students and youths. They come here for internet browsing, email, SSC & HSC result, photocopy, printing, computer training, job information and so on. There are 15 computers in the UISC. Many unemployed youths are taking computer training in order to change their fate. They enrolled themselves in computer certificate course, and getting certificate after successful completion of the course. These youths are doing better in professional life. Few youths started new business centre (computer training centre or cyber café) getting training from UISC. It’s creates income generation for the youths of rural Bangladesh.
