From 17 to 21 of September, 2012 in Moldova takes place a study visit with participation of 15 telecentre leaders. Experts from EOS Foundation, Romania, LIKTA, Latvia, Alliance for Access to Information from Moldova and International Aid Network, Serbia, share information about community digital inclusion through telecentre services.
The main purpose of the study visit is to achieve an exchange of experiences and ideas between telecentres network coordinators. People want to build capacities and encourage telecentre managers to offer better sustained services to the telecentre network they manage.
There is a dramatic increase of the number of PC`s & notebooks in Moldova rural areas, grow the number of WiFi zone. Despite increase number of hardware, there is a low quality of information resources, shortage of qualified specialists, few online services available. Here, the work of telecentres from rural areas become essential in supporting the development of online services starting from e-government and continuing with online business services.
Participants learn about services that can be promoted by telecentres. There are many examples of successful developed services: social entrepreneurship for children and youths at risk, development of WiFi networks, fundraising for community development, partnership for rising the quality of services of local public administration through new information technologies.
