Following the Asia-Pacific Telecentre Network (APTN)'s regional planning meeting in Dhaka, Bangladesh last December 3, 2011, Thaitelecentre.org was recently declared the next country host of the network.
Thaitelecentre.org, which has a very active telecentre movement and receives strong government support through the country's Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, takes over hosting duties from the Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA). It assume its role as host effective February 2012.
Aside form Thailand, the APTN committee is composed of 5 other core member countries: Philippines, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, India, and the Fiji Islands.
