October 18th marked yet another captivating topic on the TIS Talks series under the topic “Telecentre’s role in e-health solutions”. Karen Pak Oppenheimer, Vice President of World Health Partners (WHP), delivered a great presentation on key learning’s and opportunities in the field of e-Health. This webinar provided a great opportunity for telecentres and telecentres networks to engage in e-health as a model that could sustain their operations, giving very good examples of women in India who run the Sky centres.
The model can be applied on the following:
WHP have successfully implemented the solution in rural India and now looks forward to rolling out in Africa with East Africa as a targeted entry point.
World Health Partners (WHP) is an international nonprofit organization that provides health and reproductive health services in low-income countries by harnessing local market forces to work for the poor. Leveraging existing social and economic infrastructure, we utilize the latest advances in communication, diagnostic and medical technology to establish large scale, cost-effective health service networks.
