We want YOU to join us for Telecom World 2011! Foundation is participating in ITU’s Telecom World 2011 and we want YOU to join us!

What do you need to know about the event?

Telecom World 2011 will take place in Geneva on October 24-27. It aims to bring together industry CEOs and world leaders, digital experts, technology gurus, and grassroots technology pioneers to tackle core issues shaping the global ICT landscape in the age of broadband technology. In a departure from previous Telecom World events, Telecom World 2011 will dispense with the traditional exhibition show floor and instead focus on facilitating knowledge sharing, networking, deal making, and consensus building.

How can you participate? community members can participate by visiting the event website and doing any or all of these things:

  1. ASK a question to a panel of political and industry leaders at the Broadband Leadership Summit by emailing
  2. SHARE a short film about an innovative project that uses mobile or connected technologies to transform people lives. Submit your stories here.
  3. SUBMIT an idea before September 15 to the Open Innovation competition gallery. Participants with the best ideas will get the opportunity to attend the event in Geneva, pitch their idea to a high-level delegate audience, and win funding and mentoring to help them turn developed pitches into working prototypes. (Note: Female, unemployed, and disabled talent will be proactively targeted and positively weighted during the selection process.)

Your opinion is also important to us! Support your favorite questions, stories, or ideas by voting or commenting on the ones shared on our site.

Finally, community members are encouraged to ATTEND the main forum sessions, which will be streamed live on the event website. Members viewing the sessions can feed in questions and comments to delegates within the venue and across the globe in a live modified “webinar” format by adding the hashtag #ITUworld11 to their questions and comments. A schedule of the forum sessions can be downloaded here.
