Microsoft premieres Midas at Mobile08
Microsoft Unlimited Potential premieres the Midas Project - a mobile survey application for developing contexts.
Microsoft representatives Fredrik Winsnes and Ian Puttergill talk on the MIDAS prototype.
Based on a Microsoft driven research initiative based in India, to develop an SMS application for improving the farmer's access to timely and critical information.
The MIDAS prototype allows farmers to send an SMS query pertaining to details about the local crop market, and an almost immediate response is sent back with the appropriate details.
The project is about making farming efficient, and increasing availability.

The use of SMS for helping farm activities is a new initiative.We have to examine the quality of the SMS and see how effective they are to support the farming communities for production of food,feed,fibre and fuel.
I propose a study to evaluate the efficacy of SMSs and improve them on the basis of the findings of the study.
